MobilegeddonAfter the buzz caused by Google’s announcement about the launch of its new algorithm that affects the positioning of websites on mobile device searches, the question is what was the real impact on your business after April 21, 2015?

Google confirmed through a post on its blog that the update would have the following effects:

– It will affect website ranking in mobile searches only.
– It will impact mobile search results in all languages, worldwide.
– It applies to individual pages rather than entire websites.

Also, Google stated that the impact of this new algorithm will not be immediate, and that it may take a week or more before the effects of “Mobilegeddon” start to appear.

So if you got hit, do not panic. Yes; if the pages of your website were not mobile-friendly, you’ll see a significant decrease in traffic coming from mobile device, but once you address that issue Google will automatically begin to crawl and index your pages again. So it’s not that complicated, but in today’s market landscape it’s definitely vital to implement a responsive web design on every page of your website as soon as possible.
